Strategic communication masters celebrate success

Communication management professionals celebrated at their graduation ceremony this summer after completing an MA Strategic Communication course.

Graduates include an international group of people working in communication management in a range of sectors including private sector consultancy, health service, education, charity and government communication.

Lauren Wolff celebrated her graduation at home in Canada.

Grow academically

She said that for her “The Master’s in Strategic Communication at UCLan is the only Master’s programme available globally that allows PR practitioners to grow academically and still work full-time. The programme takes students from the tactical side of communications to a strategic level of communications practice – providing tools to take back to the workplace and implement well-rounded communications strategies and programmes.

Claire McCann became a mother during her studies on the course, her son Joshua joined in the celebrations‘The programme forced me to take several steps back as a communicator and evaluate how I was doing my job and how I could do it better.’

Fellow MA graduate, Rachael Vowels has recently been appointed to a communications director level post. Rachael said: ‘I can honestly say that taking this course helped me considerably and gave me the edge over other candidates.’

Course leader Dr. Mary Welch said: ‘I am delighted that our MA Strategic Communication graduates have found the course intellectually stimulating and useful in their professional lives. These students have juggled their work on this challenging course with demanding jobs and busy home lives; their success is richly deserved.’
