Laura reaches for the sky
Plucky third year newspaper journalism student Laura Wild has completed a tandem skydive for charity.
The brave reporter jumped out of a plane from 14,000 feet to raise money for the Springhill Hospice in Rochdale.
Laura decided to take the plunge after doing a story about the charity’s fundraiser when she was on work placement at Rochdale Online.
“It was an amazing experience and I would recommend doing a skydive to anybody. The freefall part of the jump was the best and completely breathe taking.
“I was a little nervous when the plane took off but as soon as I jumped I felt free and relaxed,” said Laura who raised £815 and has written about her experience for the website.
Laura no stranger to action reporting for the website. She recently covered a Mud Machines tournament on a quad bike.
