VISIT TO TOP FOOTBALL CLUB
Up and coming football writers went to one of the country’s top clubs to inspect their future working conditions.
Students from the Sports Journalism course at the University of Central Lancashire visited the media department at Ewood Park, home of Premier League outfit Blackburn Rovers.
They toured facilities including the TV interview rooms, press room, press box and interview theatre. The students were hosted by Rovers’ Head of Communications Paul Agnew.
Year Three student Elisa Langton said: “Out of all the stadium tours I’ve been on this one has given me the best insight into what really happens behind the scenes at a top club. Paul Agnew was a really good host, not holding back on any information and also threw in a few comedy stories which made the day very enjoyable.”
Paul Cox, a student in his first year on the course, said: “We gained a good insight into how journalists work on a matchday as well as how they are treated. To be able to see the environment that we all hope to be working in, one day, was great.”
Dan Birch, also in Year One, added: “” We couldn’t have asked for more from Paul. He gave us fantastic access to the facilities at Ewood “.
